The Myers’ cocktail is named after its originator, the late John Myers, M. D. Initially formulated in the 1980’s, it has been further refined by Dr. Alan R. Gaby, a renowned nutritional medicine expert and author who became one of the major proponents of this treatment.
The Myers’ cocktail contains high-dose vitamin C, magnesium, minerals, nutrients and B vitamins. Many patients add a powerful boost of glutathione to their Myers’ treatment. It is administered intravenously and promoted as an alternative treatment for a broad range of conditions including asthma, arrhythmias, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome.* Many patients swear it is the ultimate cure for the “hangover.”*
Your Myers’ cocktail is administered in about 20 minutes. It works fast as it restores and rehydrates the body.

So, What’s It All About?
IV nutritional therapy is simply the process of administering vitamins, minerals and nutrients directly into the bloodstream via an intravenous drip line (called the IV). IV nutritional therapy bypasses the gut and the liver, delivering 100% of the nutrient directly into the bloodstream. IV is the most efficient way to introduce any medication or compound.
Peak Effectiveness. Many of the vitamins and nutrients we need only reach their peak effectiveness at very high blood concentrations.* For example, Vitamin C can preferentially kill cancer cells, but only if the concentrations can reach 120 – 200 mg/Dl. The maximum Vitamin C level we can achieve by oral intake is only 9.5 mg/Dl (a dose of 2500 mg of oral Vitamin C will reach approximately 2 mg/Dl). So an individually-designed IV program is the most efficient way to deliver nutrition.*
The basis for the Myers’ cocktail is that many illnesses and conditions are associated with digestive disturbances such as bloating, maldigestion and food sensitivities. People with these conditions may not absorb many of the nutrients needed to restore and maintain good health. Also, many diseases cause the body to use nutrients at a faster rate or to require higher amounts for proper healing.
When nutrients are injected intravenously, the digestive system is bypassed. The levels in the bloodstream are temporarily increased so the nutrients are “coaxed” into the cells and into mitochondria where they are active. This temporary boost frequently “kick-starts” the cells, so they produce energy more efficiently.
Many chronic conditions respond to a series of Myers’ cocktails. Patients report an energy boost lasting days or weeks.* The Myers’ cocktail is useful in fibromyalgia syndrome FMS), chronic fatigue syndrome and for chronic depression. In the case of fibromyalgia, decreased pain can be observed. In other chronic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and ulcerative colitis, electron microscope evidence reveals that the gut “leaks” nutrients. The Myers’ injections help deliver necessary nutrients into the cells.*
Chronic asthma and other lung disease, congestive heart failure and chronic allergic problems can respond with more energy and fewer symptoms. Patients who suffer from frequent infections may find an increased immune response and less susceptibility to viral illnesses.*
To administer the Myers’ cocktail, a small butterfly needle is then inserted into a vein and the fluid drips very slowly, 1 – 2 cc per minute. Side effects are remarkably rare. The most common sensations are heat and flushing (a magnesium effect) and the taste of vitamins soon after the injection is begun.
The Myers’ cocktail is usually given once a week and each treatment takes about 20 minutes to administer. You should notice favorable results in about an hour.* Optimum beneficial effects are usually felt by the third or fourth treatment.* Simply schedule an appointment weekly or every 10 days, or whenever you feel your energy slipping.
